What
is an Orb?
By Kim Walker
Orbs
are another controversial subject in parapsychology. Some photographs
stir up dust and are called "Orbs" by new and inexperienced
ghost hunter students. There is an excellent photograph taken by someone
in Piper's Opera House that shows what appear to be orbs, when in reality
are probably just dust particles that have been kicked up and appear
as "orbs" on the camera lens . There, all one has to do is
breathe hard to stir up dust. Some people claim to see smiling faces
in orbs. This has been proven (by some doctors at least) to be a "facial
recognition" center in the brain that turns on when confronted
with some new sensory data from outside sources. They can't prove with
any certainty why this occurs yet though.
A true case of an orb would be one that
is singular in appearance having the appearance of a cell with a thick
membrane and a nucleus, appears to obey commands and has an "intelligence"
about it felt by the ghost hunter. The energy raised would be able to
raise the hair on the back of someone's head like a small electric shock
experienced when we comb our hair or walk with socks on after touching
an electrical appliance and we get static electricity or a miniscule
voltage of electricity or when the screen hums during a lightning storm.
A "true" orb can appear in a room where death has occurred.
It defies the laws of gravity and can just as suddenly appear as it
can suddenly "wink out"and disappear. We are just a handful
of chemicals that would cost no more than $1.98 in any chemist shop
bodily but what is termed the "soul" by some and "energy"
by others is what is housed inside according to others. Can these singular
orbs be just energy essentially left after death of the body results?
This phenomenon needs more in depth study to be proven one way or the
other. A good ghost hunter checks to remove all doubt by seeing if He
or She can recreate the phenomenon when working in an old building where
one could mistakenly kick up dust particles.
